It does not cover the screen, so purchase a Zagg screen protector. The case is two pieces, the bottom 3/4 is the battery, the top 1/4 is a cap. Thickness is about doubled, and the phone is extended a little bit. The worst part of this device is the charging / syncing connector - it is the new mini-USB connector (NOT the kind for most portable drives and digital cameras).
Overall good product if you don't mind a bit more weight and thickness.

(More customer reviews)I went to the website and knew immediately I wanted this. I bought one for myself and one for a family member. When I received it, I put it in an upstairs bedroom and partially opened the blinds. I plugged it in and set the timer to dusk + 7 hours. Other settings are dusk all nite, dusk + 4 hours, dusk +7, or always on. That evening, I was outside and was amazed. It looked like there was a tv on in the bedroom. It changed light intensity and colors like a real tv. My wife was appreciative because it gives her an added sense of deterrent which means a lot to me. What is impressive is that the lighting of the faketv can be extremely bright like any tv would be. However, the fake tv utilizes intensely bright LEDs that hardly uses any electricity but is a lot less than a regular tv or the high energy consumption that high definition tv uses. During the day, about 3 blue leds are always on to let you know that it is operating and will turn on at dusk. I am going to order another one for my mother because I know she would appreciate it. I would suggest for the best location would be in a window that is not near a street light.

(More customer reviews)First of all I purchased this UPS a little in the dark because I just could not find any reviews on it at the time; I guess it was a new model. I am glad I did, it exceeds my expectations... why?
1.It is silent! At last, my old 1500VA UPS was not loud but the drone was always there, this little guy, not a peep, you can even silence all the alarms.
2. Great load, I have 3x 27" monitors and my all computer guff hocked up for a total of about 580 watts full load and the UPS is just fine with that (70% load), even showing 10+ minutes of run time if power goes out.
3.It really looks cool, if these types of things can be considered cool, my old UPS was an ugly box with some LEDs on the outside, this little unit has a dark with white LCD screen (which was why I got this model over the older one) you can set it to read out whatever you like(Run time, load, VA, %, Watts, input, batt, output etc) and you have it on always or go off after a minute or so.
4.Software, not that I will ever really use it I guess but nice to know it works first time (on Windows 7 64bit at least) have not tried it on my Mac yet.
Over all I am very happy and cannot find anything about this product I am unhappy about, if I do I will amend my review.

(More customer reviews)If you have done your homework, you should be aware of the pros and cons of the Galaxy S. The star feature is, of course, the screen. The only noteworthy drawback is the GPS, which is very weak and unstable, making Navigation pretty much useless. There are plenty of reviews comparing this phone with iPhone, HTC, etc., if you're in doubt go read them.
About this particular version - Unlocked International Version with 1 Year Warranty sold by Amazon.com:
When you get the phone the first thing you'll notice is that everything will be in Greek. Don't panic. Just press the Home (middle) button, and click the Menu icon, that is on the lower left corner outside the screen. Click on the gear icon, then scroll down until you see the "A with dots" icon. Click that and then click the first option in the menu. Now you may choose among many languages. European Portuguese and US English are available. Phew!
Soon you'll realize that Android Market is broken. You'll be stuck with the preloaded apps until you update the firmware on the phone. To update, download KIES from Samsung. Install it on a laptop with a charged battery and connect it to AC power. On the phone click Menu, Settings, Wireless and Network, USB Settings, Samsung Kies. Connect the phone to the computer using the supplied USB cable. About a minute after the drivers are installed, Kies will offer a firmware upgrade. Do it. Follow the on screen instructions. It's pretty much automatic. Needless to say, while upgrading don't turn off the computer, connect other peripherals to it, use applications that may cause it to crash, etc.

Samsung doesn't sell the I9000 in Brazil. That's because there's a special I9000B version, the only difference being a digital TV tuner. However the unlocked I9000B price tag is US$ 1100. If you have the option to bring a cell phone from the US without taxes, why overpay? The I9000 does work in Brazil, at least I've tested it in Rio, Sao Paulo and Brasilia.
Get a SIM card ("chip") by TIM, which uses the 2100 MHz frequency. I highly recommend a data plan of at least 250 Mb/month. Also, it's a good idea to enable International Roaming and test the phone directly with your chip while in the US.
Choose the Unlocked International With Year Warranty sold by Amazon.com. Have your order delivered to the US and bring it back with you on the plane, or you will be heavily taxed. Your international credit card issued in Brazil is ok to use here in Amazon, even for deliveries in the US. Try to arrange a way to order in advance, especially if you are not going to stay long in the US, as delays may occur (I ordered mine on Jan 18th, should be delivered 2 days later but only arrived on Feb 7th).
Once the phone arrives, install a SIM card and see if everything works as it should. It is easier to use the warranty in the US if you have to. If you are using your TIM number, you will get 3 SMS messages as soon as you register. One of them has a toll-free number to call TIM in Brazil. Use it to test your speaker and microphone. (Note: roaming charges for both data and voice are *very very* expensive, so don't get excited. If you wanna play with your new toy, get a prepaid SIM. AT&T or T-Mobile should work.)
To configure the Internet, once you're back to Brazil. Click Menu, Settings, Wireless and Network. Then click Mobile Networks, Access Point Names. Click Menu, New APN. Name: TIM Connect Fast, APN: tim.br, Username tim, Password tim, APN type Internet. Leave the rest as it is. Check that the MCC number is 724 and the MNC is 02, 03 or 04. (You can make sure of the correct MNC by typing *#0011# on the dialer - look for Reg PLMN 724-?). Click Menu, Save. To make your phone connect only to 3G (faster but not available everywhere), Menu, Setting, Wireless and Network, Mobile Network, Network Mode, WCDMA only.
To change the input language: Menu, Settings, Locale and Text, Select input method, SWYPE, go back, SWYPE settings, Language, Português Europeu. Brazilian Portuguese works well with that, although you will need to add a few words that are spelled differently.
To change the applications language to Brazilian Portuguese: install an app called MoreLocales2 from Android Market and change locale to pt-BR.

Do you have an Apple remote for your computer, but it doesn't have enough features for your needs? If you answered yes to either of these questions, the Keyspan Presentation Remote Pro might be what you are looking for.
The Presentation Remote Pro is packed full of features. The most important feature being that it will control your presentations. It controls Powerpoint presentations, Keynote presentation, iPhoto slideshows, Quicktime slideshows, and it even controls switching tracks in iTunes (I had to try, and it worked!). In addition to controlling the visual part of the presentation, it also has volume control buttons to remotely control the audio part of your presentation.
For those who want to point out details on a presentation from a distance, it has a laser pointer. You can even black out the screen with the push of one button on the remote.
Those features alone would make this a great presentation remote. However, the remote is also a mouse (in a matter of speaking)! The top of the remote has two buttons that coincide with the left and right buttons on a mouse. There is also a mouse button, similar to those on some laptops, that will control your pointer on the screen. On the side of the unit is another button that acts like a scroll wheel. Using the remote to control the mouse was actually easier than I expected.
As far as performance, the remote is fantastic. It works from 100 feet away, and I had no problems in my tests. The remote performed without delay, and always did what I expected.
Set up is also easy. The remote consists of two parts: the remote itself and the receiver. The receiver looks like a small USB thumbdrive, and plugs into the USB port. There are no drivers needed. It is plug and play. If the remote and the receiver are not talking to each other, there is an easy method for reconnecting. The remote runs on two AAA batteries (included), and the receiver is powered by the computer. An on/off switch helps conserve battery life (assuming you remember to turn it off).
My favorite part about the remote is that I don't have to worry about losing the receiver. When not in use, the USB receiver slides into the remote itself, where it locks into place (springloaded).
With all of these features, the Keyspan Presentation Remote is well worth the $79 price. It is compatible with OSX, Windows computers, and even OS 9. Some features will be disabled due to the operating system you use.
It is always nice to try out a product that does what it says it is going to do, and it does it well.

While the unit is fairly small in size it weighs more than much bigger surge protectors that i have elsewhere. Also at 5100 joules it offers some major protection for your flat panel. The short cord is just right to keep things nice and neat. I read many reviews on Tripp-Lite products and how they saved others components from actual lightening strikes while other components using cheap surge protectors got fried. One less thing to worry about. At just over $30 on special its a no brainer.
Update: I attached an image of this mounted. You can see it by clicking on customer images. If you look you will see it has two green LED's that are lit. The reason why I mention this is that the center one is not lit. After reading the manual that center one that is not lit indicated that the ground to the power center was not correct. As it turned after checking the outlet I found the polarity was reversed even though the outlet was grounded. Using a test light i confirmed the outlet had the hot and neutral wires reversed. After fixing this now all three lights are lit and I know its properly connected and protected. The other two LED's light green to tell you 1) the surge compression components are intact and providing full protection for you component 2) Indicates nominal AC power is present with no wiring faults detected.
This indicator lights are not just for show and do work.

I was reading reviews and noticed that other VGA Switchboxes had people complaining about their low quality video, but this one seemed to have decent reviews so I decided to try it.
I bought this in order to switch between using my PC and my Xbox360 on the same monitor. I instantly was able to recognize ghosting when using my PC, it was especially apparent whenever there was any text against a white background, regardless of the color of the text. The effect wasnt limited to text either, everything onscreen was ghosted. The whole screen looked fuzzy and it felt like my eyes were out of focus, and I was only running at a resolution of 1280x960.
Trying to wiggle the switch, as previous reviews stated, did not help either. The ghosting problem persisted no matter what I tried. I also made sure it was not my cables by trying to connect the monitor directly to the cable, then putting it through the switchbox. As long as it was not connected to the switchbox the image was crystal clear, the second I connected it through the switchbox there was ghosting everywhere, so there was obviously nothing wrong with my cables.
I suppose if you needed to switch between two terminals that only need very low quality video (such as between two systems that use a command line) this might be useful, but it's useless for anything else.
The only good thing I can say about it is that it was cheap ($11.99USD), not even worth the hassle of returning it. Although keep in mine that you will also have to factor in the cost of cables as it comes with none.
I'm going to set my sights on powered KVM switches from now on, this thing is going in the closet, likely never to see the light of day again.

(More customer reviews)I have not noticed the noise like other reviewers have. It has to do with placement, maybe. Mine sits at my feet and the fan would point away from me, but I don't ever hear it. The battery lasts a good amount of time for me, especially compared to a 1000 VA.
I bought this to protect my Mac Pro. I am glad I did. I had a storm last year that crippled about $3000 worth of equipment when a bolt of lightning struck very close. My Mac Pro survived hooked up to this. This UPS seems to have helped with the surge a lot compared to some others. I had an expensive APC Smart-UPS which let through a damaging jolt in the room next door (Server died hard and UPS died). I also had a Tripp-Lite Smart1000LCD which got toasted and let through a surge. This UPS may not have been perfect, as it seems that a USB port on my monitor failed (the LCD screen works), but it fared the best of all of my surge protectors and UPSes.
So overall, if you get hit by lightning, nothing is safe, even with an expensive UPS. Tripp-Lite sent me replacement UPSes, so having (both) a product warranty and an equipment warranty is good insurance. It may take a while to get service, but they are helpful. So whatever brand you buy, get a good UPS with a good warranty and hope for the best. They will ask you to draw a diagram of what failed during the storm, so make sure you have everything plugged in, including phones and network cables.

- Interface is very snappy.
- The screen is incredible. Very bright and the colours are outstanding, and just the perfect size.
- The AllShare app for playing content from a UPnP server is nice. At home, I can store my entire collection of music and videos and play whichever I want.
That said, there are a few issues I encountered:
- Interface, despite its speed, occasionally freezes. I was worried when this occurred an hour after I started using it, but it's only happened a few times since then. Usually lasts no more than 10 seconds.
- No flash for the camera. I'm given to understand that an LED flash is common on smartphone cameras these days, so low-light photos aren't as good as they can be.
- Camera again: no dedicated button, so taking pictures is a bit awkward. Definitely turn on the anti-shake feature.
- AllShare is a little finicky sometimes about detecting media servers. Moreover, the player is a little deficient next to the normal Android video player (it stretches videos to conform to the screen's aspect ratio, and I haven't discovered a way to return the video to its native aspect ratio).
- Battery runs out fairly quickly if your browsing the internet or watching videos all day. Haven't had a chance to test it on pure standby yet, but you aren't likely to go a whole day if you're using the "smart" part of the smartphone.
Even though I listed more issues than positives, the phone is very good and I would recommend it to anyone. All the other aspects of the phone are common to other Android sets and should be well known to Android lovers. The Samsung additions to the UI such as Daily Briefing (weather, stocks and news in a widget) and the seven homescreens are nice touches, but not particularly a deal breaker, and I haven't tried any of the other Samsung apps.
An additional note: this phone is really, really light and thin. While some other reviews have thought it too "plasticy", I absolutely love the build. I can use it all day.
The input method, Swype is also on by default, but you can get this on other Android phones. Very nice, though, and a nice thought from Samsung. Check out some videos on Youtube of it, but I also have to say that it's hard to say how nice this function is without using it yourself.
Some other details: this version is the 8GB internal memory model. For Americans and countries using similar power sockets, since this is the international version the charger it comes with is the Europlug style. You'll need to get either a converter or your own plug with a micro-USB connector.

The key to doing it right is that the screen has to be uniformly lit, so that your photo or video editing software can cut it all out.
This kit comes with two lights on stands, a 9'x 10' green flannel screen, a simple instruction video, a CD with a few funky backgrounds (some you can see in my video) and a one-month trial of Adobe Premiere Elements (so you can try out the effect if you don't have anything else that will do Chroma Key). What you need, in addition, is a more permanent video editing solution, a video or still camera, and some way to mount the screen on a flat wall.
The screen is made of very nice quality fabric. It's a durable, wrinkle-resistant, felt type material with a reflective surface on one side and a fluffy surface on the other. There is a slot on one end of the screen that you can run a tube through if you have a frame, but there are also 3 brass eyelit rings on each side of the screen that you can use to hook your screen onto the wall, either with adhesive backed hooks or screw in hooks. I suppose you could also use tape.
The light stands are solid, and elevate to about 7 feet - they may not be professional strength but they seem durable and don't wobble, even at maximum height. The collapsible softboxes are also nicely built. You open them up like an umbrella and put in the included 500 watt bulbs, then put on the white diffusing cover to spread the light and eliminate glare.
This is a very nice kit, and you could do a lot with it. I shot this video quickly with my Canon VIXIA HF10, setting up the screen in my office where I didn't have a lot of room to back up and get a wider shot. I used Final Cut Express 4 to edit and eliminate the green. I used a few of the backgrounds that are included with the kit, and some other random footage I had on my camcorder from a local park. (I apologize for the foreground: I guess I could probably use a haircut).

(More customer reviews)The paint started flecking off less than 24 hours after use. By use I mean just putting the case in my pocket. Then I heard it continuously try charging the battery....off then on then off then on. Finally some sort of Charging Error came up on the iPhone screen and I got nervous and just unplugged it. I also read it fried another user's battery altogether. I'm really disappointed in Amazon though. Clearly this product is not a good one and can cause damage to a very expensive item. I would have thought they would screen their products more carefully. I actually threw the case out because I can't risk frying my phone.
I would seriously recommend NOT purchasing this item. I wish I had read a review before hitting the buy button.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice 70x70 in screen that pulls down and stops/locks at various intervals. Has a black back so it cannot be used as a rear projection screen. It closes smoothly. I am not very skilled with tools, but was easy to install as a wall mount, then I decided to hang it from the ceiling. I got a few items from the hardware store and for under $5.00 it hangs nicely. Has a strong petrolum gas smell when you first unroll it, so make sure you have the room well ventilated for a bit. It can be moved around as needed, but it is not meant to be used a a portable screen. Great value for the money.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit so that I could use my GPS with my new laptop (which did not come with a serial port). When the unit came, it was obvious that the drivers that came with it were not up-to-date. I went to the Tripp-Lite website and after a considerable amount of searching (they have simplified the navigation since this time) I finally found what was listed as an XP compatible driver. I installed it but a few weeks later when I used it (for more than a few minutes), it would blue-screen my computer about every 5-10 minutes. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver but had no luck. Now the light on the unit will not come on no matter what I do. Looking at the web site, I noticed that the driver they list for XP is the same one listed for W2K. There is absolutely no install information or any kind of read me file available with the "XP" driver. The documentation that came with the unit is horrible. Worst of all, it is now past the 30 day limit and I cannot return the piece of junk. Avoid this device like the plague!!!

Definitely get two people on the install (I did it by myself but would have been easier with a second set of hands). Frame snaps together and screen snaps in place quite easily. Looks perfect on the wall. Although I bought this at Amazon, the folks at Best Buy tried to upsell me on a much more expensive screen and frankly I couldn't tell the difference. Can't go wrong with this one!
