There was only one reason I chose this product for our netbooks: We use our notebooks at home with a monitor when not on the road. This solves problems inherent in side mounted VGA ports in netbooks. I don't understand why the VGA ports in current generation netbooks are positioned on the right or left side and more critically don't have the screw-in threads, thereby leaving the VGA cable susceptible to being accidentally pulled out. A standard VGA cable sticks out like a sore thumb, gets in the way, and easily disconnects. This cable is designed with a right angle, is more streamlined, reduces the risk of accidental disconnections and fits snugly in the port. You can even remove the plug's useless (for netbooks) screws to make it really streamlined. It's perfect for the new netbooks with VGA ports on the side.
My recomendation comes with a word of caution, unless you have an Asus eeePc or a KJS or similar netbook, make sure there are no ports or plugs immediately adjacent (I estimate that you need at least a three inch clearance) to the VGA port that might negate the usefulness of this design.
