This review is for the Versatol silver matte, 60" x 80":
As more and more people are "home-brewing" a 3D setup in their home theaters, there's an unfortunate amount of smack being talked about the Da-Lite silver matte. Most forums are full of suggestions that people go for a Harkness or Stewart screen instead, saying that D-Lite's entry-level, polarizing-preserving screen is kind of a joke. And while I don't have any experience with those screens, I can say that the 3D I'm getting from two projectors and this screen is INCREDIBLE!
The Versatol itself is rugged enough, and simple (if a little awkward) for one person to set up. I can see, though, why the step-up Picture King might be preferred: I'm a little afraid of bending or snapping the legs of the Versatol, and the extra build quality of the PK might be important. Now that I know how great this screen suface is for my indended use, I am seriously considering the upgrade.
A note about Da-Lite: when this screen arrived, it had a pair of minor cracks on the extension button. I sent a picture to Da-Lite, and in a couple of days I had a bunch of replacement parts and assembly instructions. Nice service! I really can't recommend this manufacturer, or this screen, highly enough.
